St. Laurence Catholic School Celebrates Red Ribbon Week

“Hand in Hand, Let’s Take a Stand” was the theme for this year’s Red Ribbon week at St. Laurence Catholic School. The week started off with a pep-rally in mid-October.

The students and staff then “teamed up against drugs” by wearing their favorite team shirts. Wednesday was a favorite among the students with a no-homework day. A variety of other special daily activities reinforced the values of a drug free life, including lessons emphasizing making healthy choices and avoiding peer pressure.

October is the month that schools across the nation celebrate Red Ribbon Week as a time to emphasize ways to develop good character traits, make healthy choices and avoid pressures to try drugs and alcohol.

I’ve also heard that the Baptist Academy is a good one too.

I am sure it is a great school. Too bad I can’t get a voucher to send my kids there, since I am taxed but I don’t get a choice of where to send my kids.
