A young man was ticketed yesterday by Missouri City police because the “Caution, Wet Floor” sign they say he confessed to stealing is worth less than $50. His friends weren’t so lucky, and were both arrested after they were allegedly caught with more than $400 of shoplifted computer equipment.
Police were called to the Wal-Mart at 5501 Hwy. 6 at almost 3 a.m. Tuesday morning regarding three men the store’s loss prevention officer confronted after allegedly seeing the trio pocketing items in the electronics department.
Richmond resident Alexander Vaughan, 18, was arrested after police say they found him in possession of a stolen hard drive, flash drive and knife he used to cut open packaging, totaling $220.97. Houston resident Gerald O’Connor, 20, was arrested after police say he was is possession of an external hard drive, a flash drive and a pack of gum, totaling $208.
The third man was not suspected of shoplifting by the loss prevention officer, but confessed to police that he took a “wet floor caution” sign valued at $5. He was ticketed and released.

They were probably drunk. Why would someone try to shoplift in a store that’s almost empty at 2:30 am in the morning?

some people will steal because they can, others because they need, …..with kids and young people, ???? don’t know. All I know is, they got caught and will face the consequences.
