A resident in the 1300 block of Meadows Lake Drive in Sugar Land was robbed at gunpoint in front of his home Nov. 11.
According to reports, the victim returned home from work around 6:20 p.m. and parked in front of his house. As he was getting out of his car, a man ran up to his car holding a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet, phone and car keys.
After handing over his property, the victim was hit in the head with the handgun. The suspect is described as a black man wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts and a drak-colored cap.

blah blah blah
yada yada yada

Didn’t even read it
Your boyz are just doing a bang-up job driving people out with the multiple property tax increases over the last few years. More can move into their developer buddies apts. and now even stay at the motel. LOL
I guess next they will work hard to land one of those coveted super 8s…..LOL
Yes Mocity, SL gets Marriot hotels and MC gets La Quinta. The planners and councils seem hell bent on high density low end development much like the rest of Houston proper. First thousands of high density apartments and now low end hotels. Yes the developer boyz have to keep us moving to the next latest and greatest creation. Probably across the river where the FB toll road and the TX99 (future toll road) will intersect in a new privatopia with private major roadways paid for courtesy of you and I.
Funny you should mention bus lines in Alief… look at what is on the schedule at the Missouri City Special Session tonight, prior to the council meeting:
1.) Consider and discuss possible Metro Park and Ride locations in Missouri City.
And in case you don’t make that meeting, you can always go to the council meeting directly following the special session, in which you can hear the council discuss:
Public hearing to receive comments for or against a request by TexLa Hotel, LLC on behalf of TexLa Hotel, LLC, enterprise Leasing Company of Houston, M.P. & C.P., LLC, and Douglas Watkins to amend Ordinance O-00-68 pertaining to PD, Planned Development District #14 to allow for deviations from the architectural style of visible roofing and color as well as deviations from the color of the primary brick in order to develop a La Quinta Hotel Franchise; providing for penalty; providing for severability; and to consider the ordinance on second and final reading. The subject site is located northwest of the intersection of Township Lane and Williamsburg Lane, south of the Wal-Mart shopping center, east of the Chase Bank, and west of the Sterling Auto Body and the Towne Creek school.
I have to tell you folks – I foresee bad things in Missouri City’s future… they don’t call it the ‘Poor Man’s Sugar Land’ for nothing.
Interesting someone mentioned the Alief apartments and development because we found some the development companies bringing record numbers of apts to Alief are the same companies building them here in FBC. Even the county commissioners are claiming they want to address this development issue. Of course with many of them taking regular contributions from some of these same land companies bringing them here one wonders if they are serious about balance.
This makes news because its a Sugar Land address. As beloved as everyone is in Sugar Land, if you look at the map you will see its as close to Alief as you can get. Alief is a ghetto. Think of it as Houstons’s up and coming Watts. We might as well build a USC in the middle of it because that’s the future. The bus lines did it and now we all live futher out depending on our toyota’s and honda’s for transportation.
I don’t have the details but I would imagine that this young purp who has no dad and lives with his mom in an apartment a few streets over hangs out with his homies and needed some cash to get by a few more weeks. No doubt a repeat offender because he was so bold. He will be caught soon, however he will have to kill someone before our law enforcement angencies and penal system will put their sites on him. Until then, he is just practicing.
I want to be balla, shot calla, 20″ blades on my Impala
“I never realized before that crime was party specific.”
Most do not. need examples? Look at NOs Dem mayor. Look at Detroit Dem Mayor. Look at Dallas Dem Mayor. LA?…dem mayor LA? dem mayor
How can that be?
Its all about priorities/agendas.
Was Lee P Brown’s priorities a toy train or staffing more policeman?
Was Bill Whites’ metro or putting more police on the street?
One needs to understand there’s a direct correlation between the lack of police and crime.
When Dem Mayor “schoolbus” Nagin was confronted by a marching mob screaming about the “high crime rate” in NOs he took decisive action and brought in Former Dem Mayor Lee P Brown to address the problem. Former Dem Mayor Lee P Brown took decisive action and “ordered” the media to quit reporting murders in the French Quarter because it was bad for business. Problem solved. Don’t want a high crime rate? Quit reporting it.
Still think its not party specific?
I’m sorry, if I wasn’t being clear before, I was being sarcastic.
Probably Republicans. Uh-huh. Yep.
I never realized before that crime was party specific.
Or citizens could arm themselves and shoot these lowlife punk thugs dead.
I agree blade. We’ve seen these for years. Perhaps if we started making arrests of violent criminals and actually jailing them here in our county, rather than using probation, deferred adjudication we wouldn’t see so many repeat offenders on the streets of this county. I think we have several challengers running for the DAs office that have ideas on this. Not building jail cells to rent them out to other counties to pad the budget, but actually use them for our violent criminal element would be helpful too. After-all they aren’t being built to just feed county vendor companies, or as a hotel for the cty budget. While they are at it they could clean up the white collar and local political crime here to that has been long neglected.
As the Dem led Houston sprawls out of control, trying to annex further and further into Ft Bend Cty look for more crime. The dem led Houston with a dem mayor and his inept police chief declare Houston a “sanctuary city” a safe haven for illegals and criminals.
Ft Bend Dems will tell you we need reform in Ft Bend CTY, when what they really mean is they want more of the same type leadership in Ft Bend.
If you’re against crime just say no to dems.
You see these type of crime all over Houston and suburbia.
Doesn’t look like anything has changed over the years to me.
It seems like a few years ago the home invasions and garage robberies were very common.
