Sugar Land City Mayor James Thompson was robbed at gunpoint in his driveway last night, and police say the suspect may be responsible for a driveway robbery in Meadow Lakes last week.
The suspect is described as a black man, 6 feet tall with a thin build.
On Nov. 11, the Meadow Lakes resident returned from work around 6:20 p.m. and parked in front of his house. As he was getting out of his car, a man ran up to his car holding a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet, phone and car keys.
After handing over his property, the victim was hit in the head with the handgun.
The suspect is described as black man, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was a black T-shirt, black shorts and a black cap during the Meadow Lakes robbery.
Some say its the drug busts causing a shift in marketing strategies of the criminals. SL and MoCity have people with $50 on them and jewelry, its just common robbery, easier than hitting a convenience store that has a bunch of camera’s.
I think the thugs in Houston have figured out SL and MC are easy pickins.
With SL quickly becoming Houston, I’m sure we are in the wrong biz.
Yeah tabor, hopefully he wasn’t but we don’t know.
Not that I like it but hitting a high profile person will at least bring a spotlight on it in a way that might have taken several more attacks, this guy is toast, remember what happens to gun weilding bank robbers in SL?
This is definately an opportunity for Brinkley to show what he can do with his dept. All the luck to them.
Either way I am sure the gun shops in our area are doing brisk business.
No quicker way to get caught than going after the city and police chief boss. Let’s hope the police treat it as important a case as any robbery of a citizen. I wonder if the mayor-victim was assaulted in his experience too?

I have met the mayor and he is a fine gentleman. This shows the randomness of the crime which in itself is scary. The dumb@$$ didn’t even know who he was tarteting. The criminal will eventually hurt someone. He needs to be stopped. My guess is he will be found very soon.
