Rosenberg City Manager Honored For 35 Years Of Public Service

Rosenberg City Manager Jack Hamlett has been honored with a 35-year service award from the International City/County Management Association at a special ceremony during the organization’s 95th Annual Conference in Montreal, Canada. 

 

The award recognizes Hamlett’s dedication to public service and public management through his full-time employment in local government over the past 35 years. 

 

Hamlett’s public service career began in Lake City, South Carolina, and continued through appointments in Farragut, Tennessee, and Seguin. 

 

He has served as city manager of the City of Rosenberg since 2006. 

 

In addition to his professional obligations, Hamlett has served the ICMA in a number of positions over the years, including as a member of the Strategic Planning, Professional Endowment Fund, Small Cities and Conference Planning Committees.  From 1992 to 1993, he served as President of the Tennessee City Managers Association, which hosted the 1993 ICMA Annual Conference in Nashville. 

 

Hamlett received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of City Management degrees from East Tennessee State University. 

 

He also holds the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA based on his commitment to continued professional development and management standards.  ICMA members qualify for the Credentialed Manager designation through a combination of education and experience, adherence to high standards of integrity and an assessed commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
