The City’s annual holiday celebration, “Christmas in Rosenberg,” will be held in the Historic Downtown District from 3 – 9 pm on Saturday, Dec. 5. There is no admission fee for the event.
“Christmas in Rosenberg,” a project of the Rosenberg Convention & Visitors Bureau Special Events Committee, will include holiday entertainment, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus in 3rd Street Park, a carnival on the grounds of the Rosenberg Railroad Museum, letters to Santa, gift and crafts vendors, and a food court.
There is no admission to the event, and the public is encouraged to participate in a new addition to the annual festival this year – two larger-than-life Christmas cards to military personnel. Guests will have the opportunity to send Holiday wishes and thank our military personnel overseas for their sacrifices and service to our country by signing the oversized cards prominently displayed on Avenue G.
After the event, the cards will be mailed to personnel overseas in care of two City of Rosenberg staff members’ children, First Lieutenant Robert B. Gracia and Captain Lauren Gobar.
CAST Theatrical Company will produce three performances of “The Christmas Dress,” at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Vogelsang Antique Emporium (1909 Avenue G).
Miss Jane’s music students will perform in front of the Rosenberg Music Store and the Main Stage located at Avenue G and 3rd Street will host the Hubenek Elementary Choir, Xtreme DANZ, the Huggins Elementary Choir, Forever Dance, the Briscoe Junior High Cheerleaders, and Mick’s Imagination Station throughout the evening.
First Baptist Church Rosenberg will present a live nativity scene and performances by their adult, youth, and hand bell choirs throughout the day in Downtown Park on Avenue G.
Holiday Cards designed and painted by students at Dickinson, Meyer, Huggins, Smith and Bowie Elementary Schools will displayed along 3rd Street as part of the festivities.
Star Sponsors of this year’s event include Gurecky Manufacturing Services, HDR Engineering / Claunch and Miller, IDC, SouthWest Water Company, Landtech Consultants, OakBend Physical Therapy, and Royal Neighbors of America. McCoy’s Building Supply in Rosenberg generously donated the plywood for the holiday card art and military projects.
Downtown merchants will welcome Christmas shoppers and Rosenberg’s downtown eateries will be open for business throughout the evening. The Historic Downtown District boasts an eclectic mix of popular eateries which serve everything from old-fashioned soda-fountain hamburgers and ice-cream sodas to world-famous tacos, soul food, and barbecue. Participating downtown merchants feature antiques, handmade furniture, gifts and collectibles, art, and spa services.
The gateway to Rosenberg’s Historic Downtown District is located at the intersection of Avenue H and 3rd Street. The city recently completed sidewalk and lighting improvement projects along 3rd Street, and the period lampposts lining the street will be highlighted with holiday decorations provided by the Downtown Merchants of Rosenberg throughout the holiday season.
This unique area is not only home to the city annual holiday festival, but also to the city’s HOT Summer Concerts, the Rosenberg Railroad Museum festivals throughout the year, and car shows, including the popular Ride to Rosenberg Classic Car Show.
CAST Theatrical Company, a staple of the District and Rosenberg’s live repertory theater, offers performances every Friday and Saturday night.
The Rosenberg Railroad Museum, located at 1921 Avenue F, showcases an impressive collection of artifacts and memorabilia detailing the history of the Great Rails in and around Rosenberg and Fort Bend County.

The play should be alot of fun too!
We always enjoy visiting the railroad museum. They had a very interesting story on how the RR used to get across the brazos river during the 1800s.
This looks like it should be fun for the entire family!
