Fort Bend Youth Football League will be hold their first Christmas Food & Toy Drive during their Powder Puff Game, where the mother’s of FBYF players take to the field for a game of flag football. The event begins at 8 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Clements High School football field, 4200 Elkins Dr. Eight teams will be playing for the championship spot.
Admission to the game for adults is a new, unwrapped toy and for children a nonperishable food item. The league is sponsoring 16 unprepared Christmas dinner to families in Fort Bend County, and the toys will be donated to the Fort Bend Rainbow Room.
Food items suggested include stuffing mix, cranberry jelly, Saltine crackers, green beans, instant potatoes and rice, canned sweet potatoes or yams, marshmallows, flour/ cornbread mix, bottled gravy, pie fillings, cake mix and frosting.. Suggested toys include educational toys for all ages, craft items, board games, hand-held electronic games, stuffed animals/characters, boy and girl-specific toys, checkers/cards/dominos, coloring books, crayons, markers, sports balls and DVDs/CDs.
