Fort Bend Independent School District employees representing the Human Resources Department and the Center for Distribution recently collected non-perishable food items to help families within the community prepare holiday meals.

Representing Human Resources are Sheron Blaylock, director of compensation; and JoAnn Collier, employee services director.
In addition to donating food items, the Human Resources team also made financial contributions toward the purchase of $15 grocery store gift cards for families to buy turkeys or hams to complete their holiday meals. The food items and gift cards were donated to My Brother’s Keeper Outreach Center, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to individuals and families in crisis.
For employees at the Center for Distribution, this year’s food drive marked the start of what will become an annual event for them. The employees collected more than 10 large boxes full of food items to benefit Second Mile Ministries. The group also supports FBISD’s Shared Dreams Holiday Cheer program each year with donations of food and clothing items requested by families in need.
