To jaghund and all other misinformed Rosenberg residents: the RDC strictly adhered to the City's (and State’s) purchasing and bidding policies when they went out to bid for this important and timely project. In regards to who is paying for this project: As approved by Rosenberg voters 14 years ago, the RDC is allocated a VERY small percentage of the SALES TAXES collected in the City of Rosenberg. The RDC carefully utilizes those funds to pay for projects that benefit/promote/develop business, jobs, and quality of life projects -- including image projects like this one and recreational development. Not one single dime comes out of your pockets for the projects. Jughund, it would serve you well to attend any and all RDC meetings to learn what they are doing for YOU and the City -- without dipping into your pocketbook. Get informed.

To acolddaveinhell re: enhancing Rosenberg's image: I hear what you're saying and couldn't agree more; however, they have to start somewhere and improving the entryways into the City is a good place to start. Other initiatives - including those that influence perception - will follow. It will take some time.

What evidence do you have to suggest they didn't follow the correct procedures in the bidding? Any at all?

I wonder if these development corporations have to follow city and state code on bidding and awarding of contracts? I wonder how much we forked out for this?
