
The NRG Texas WA Parish Electric Generating Station recently announced the 2009 environmental scholarship winners. Students from three Lamar Consolidated Independent School District high schools were selected based on essays on climate change or recycling and service to their communities. Scholarship winners will begin college in the fall of 2010 studying engineering and computer science. Shown above, scholarship winners learned how coal is unloaded at the WA Parish Electric Station.
