White Powder On Driver’s Seat Tests Positive For Cocaine

Cocaine scraped of the driver’s seat led to the arrest of 27-year-old Missouri City resident Elio Rodriguez around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to reports, Rodriguez was pulled over on Fondren after running a stop sign. As officers approached the car, Rodriguez started to get out, but was told to get back inside. When one officer approached the driver’s side, he said he could smell alcohol, and asked Rodriguez to get out of the car. When he did, the officer said he could smell alcohol on Rodriguez.

When the second officer approached the passenger side of the car, he saw a 40 oz. beer inside the vehicle. According to police, when Rodriguez was out of the car, the officers noticed three streaks of white powder along the driver’s seat, which tested positive for cocaine.

Rodriguez was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a third degree felony.

At what criminal justice “lab” was this test done? Yeah, fool me thousands of times and hey, I’m just a little curious.

Driving around getting drunk and high will always be against the law.

Oh well, now we have another addict/user in the tank for possesing an illegal drug. Why not take him to a treatment program instead, doesn’t it cost about the same amount? Do we need to institutionalize an addict or recreational drug user?
