Kempner High School Looking For Volunteers Tournament Volunteers

Kempner High School will be hosting the Speech and Debate Tournament on Feb. 12 through Feb. 13, an event draws in 25-40 schools from the Houston area, Texas and Louisiana; 300-500 students, and nets anywhere between $4,000 and $10,000 for the team.  Many parent volunteers will be need to help provide assistance in many different areas such as hospitality committee, welcoming committee, and especially, judging.

Kempner Speech and Debate joined the “100 Club” of the National Forensic League which means they are in the top ten percent of all Speech and Debate programs in the United States.  It also means competition gets more costly for all the students participating in the tournament this year.

I would like to encourage more families to get involved with school sponsored activities like these and get their kids away from the xboxes and engaged in proactive programs in their community.

We have some good friends whose kids participate in debate. I wonder if they are attending this event?
