Elkins High School’s “Guys and Dolls production has been rescheduled to April 23 and April 24 due to the auditorium project, which started in December of last year and is expected to be completed March 19.
Campus administrators looked into moving the production, but have decided to keep it at the school and feature the production as a “major celebration” for the Elkins auditorium grand reopening. There are also plans to showcase the Fine Arts program at a March open house on a stage in the commons area of the school, and the campus will host the UIL one act play competition, also in March.
The auditorium project includes replacing the stage lighting and assessing the sound system at a cost of $108,152, budgeted in the 2007 bond referendum.
The auditorium project at Elkins, which includes replacing both the stage lighting and assessing the sound system, has been started and the projected completion date is March 19, 2010. This completion date will allow the campus to host the UIL one act play competition in March.
