Emergency preparedness measures are expected to dominate the discussion at tonight’s meeting of the Weston Lakes City Council.
Council members will hear an update on emergency preparedness for Fort Bend County’s newest municipality, including information on unauthorized releases, a mitigation plan, the status of a FEMA grant and the submission of a grant to the Houston-Galveston Area Council.
The council will also consider a lease with the Weston Lakes County Club to use part of that facility as an emergency operations center.
Other items on tonight’s agenda include an update on revised FEMA flood plain maps for Weston Lakes and receiving the treasurer’s report.
Additionally, Mayor Mary Rose Zdunkewicz will give a report on the 2010 Census, the city secretary attending am election law seminar, a legal workshop by the law firm of Olson & Olson and the recent small town mayor’s meeting.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the council chambers of Simonton City Hall.
