A 21-year-old woman added a felony charge to two misdemeanor charges after she tried to ditch a bag of marijuana in the back seat of a police car, according to reports.
Brithany Adelaja was sitting in a parked car at Hunter’s Glen Park in Missouri City around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Her passenger was 23-year-old Christopher Lofton. Police on routine patrol noticed that the parked car was the only one at the park, and the officers stopped to speak with the occupants.
As one officer approached the driver’s side and one the passenger side, both smelled burning marijuana. The first officer spoke to the driver, Adelaja, and asked for her name. According to police, Adelaja gave the officer a fake name, and nothing showed up in the computer system. The officer eventually found Adelaja’s Texas identification card, and asked her why she lied about her name. She said she didn’t want to go to jail.
She was placed under arrest for failure to identify and for possession of marijuana, after the officer found half of a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in the driver’s side door. Both are Class B Misdemeanors. The officer checked the backseat of the patrol car before putting her inside, according to reports.
When they arrived at the jail, the officer reported finding a bag of marijuana in the backseat, and added tampering with evidence to Adelaja’s list of charges. Tampering with evidence is a third degree felony.
Lofton was arrested by the second officer after a partially smoked marijuana cigarette was found on the ground outside the passenger side door, and a bag of marijuana was allegedly found in his pocket. He was charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Ah, “the law” found another two victims of low social capital whom they can force into the system of class warfare and extortion for the profits of our bloated law enforcement industry.
Stop the drug war!
