Jose Gutierrez, 32, of Houston, Luis Dominguez, 21, of Houston, and Jose Vasquez, 24, of Houston, were all arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Engaging in Organized Crime. Police believe they may be responsible for at least 10 similar crimes in Sugar Land and possibly more in the region. They are all in the Fort Bend County Jail with bonds up to $5,000.

Gutierrez, Dominguez and Vasquez were caught shortly after a vehicle was burglarized on around 1:40 p.m. Feb. 4, at 12535 Reed Rd.  A member of SLPD’s BMV Task Force recognized a truck known to be involved in previous crimes.

Surveillance cameras at Unocal and Church of Christ previously captured images of several men committing vehicle burglaries and leaving in a red or maroon Toyota, crew cab pickup with primer behind the driver side door.

A police officer conducting surveillance in the Bally’s Total Fitness parking lot, 13444 Southwest Freeway, heard dispatchers broadcast the vehicle burglary on Reed Road.  He then saw a truck matching the description of the Toyota used in previous crimes.

The truck was stopped, and stolen GPS devices and other electronics were recovered in the vehicle. Vasquez later said, “They were being stupid and riding around breaking into cars.”

so Houston’s aggressive annexation under Dem Mayor Lee P. Brown had consequences? And people thought he only annexed ClearLake and Woodlands. He also tried to annex Greatwood and 1/2 of Ft Bend Cty. That’s why Commissioner Grady Prestage Prct #2(mostly in Houston) needs to work with Houston on crime.

Perhaps it is because there is no longer a clear difference between the city of Houston and Stafford, Sugar Land or Missouri City.

    Wadefishin,

I have noticed the same thing throughout the past few weeks. About 99% of the people committing crimes in Sugar Land are from Houston. Interesting trend eh?

all three are from Houston, I wonder if there’s a connection ie Houston…crime?
