Four Lamar Consolidated High students are advancing to the state-level after participating in the SkillsUSA-Career Preparation District IX competition, held recently at the Fort Bend Independent School District Technical Education Center.
Haleigh Gaskin advances to state in two events after taking first place in both Texas Pin Design and National T-shirt Design.
Carla Diaz advances in two events as well, taking first place in Customer Service and earning Best of Show in Career Promotional Information – Display and Notebook.
Cristal Mannajerrez and Alexis Varela both advance to State in Career Promotional Information – Display and Notebook after earning a Superior Ratings. Varela was also fourth in Customer Service.
Stephanie Maldonado is an Alternate after taking third in Customer Service. Lehi Hazen is also an Alternate after taking third in First Aid and CPR.
Terry Lindsey is the sponsor and advisor for the LCHS Skills USA team. The State Competition will be held March 25-27in Corpus Christi.
