Katy Mayor Endorses Graney In Congressional Bid, Calls Candidate ‘A True Republican’ In March 2 Primary

GOP congressional candidate Tim Graney has picked up the endorsement of Katy’s mayor in his race to unseat veteran Rep. Ron Paul to represent Texas’ 14th Congressional District.

Mayor Don Elder announced yesterday his is endorsing Graney in the March 2 Republican primary.

The 14th Congressional District includes parts of the Katy area, including most of Cinco Ranch, and portions of Fort Bend County.

In making the endorsement, Elder called Graney “a true Republican.”

“Tim Graney is a true Republican conservative dedicated to pursuing common sense solutions for the families of Katy,” Elder said.  “The Republican Party needs a proven Conservative with the necessary problem-solving experience to go to Washington and get things done.  As a former small business owner, Tim will deliver effective common sense solutions for the residents of the 14th District.”

Graney said it was “humbling” to receive Elder’s support.

“As a former Katy ISD Trustee, President of the Harris County Education Board and current Mayor of the great City of Katy, Mayor Elder has shown a passion and dedication to our community that is seldom found,” Graney said. “I am committed to this community and I will continue to work with Mayor Elder to make this city, and the 14th District, the most admired in the country.”

In addition to Graney, Paul is being challenged in the March 2 Republican primary by John Gay, a school business administrator, and Gerald Wall, a petro-chemical maintenance engineer.
