74-Year-Old Calls Police When Unknown Person Shuts Down Her Power, Breaks Kitchen Window

Missouri City police responded to a call Wednesday from a frightened 74-year-old woman who locked herself in a back bedroom and stayed on the phone with a dispatcher until police arrived at her home.

According to police, the victim was in the kitchen of her home in the 1700 block of 3rd Street around 7:10 p.m. when all the power in her house went out. She looked out her kitchen window, and saw a man standing outside. She called police, and while she was on the phone, her doorbell began to ring several times. When she didn’t answer, she heard a window in her house shatter.

She stayed on the phone with police and locked herself in a back bedroom. When police arrived, they were unable to locate anyone in the area, and say no one made entry into the house. A kitchen window was shattered, and the master breaker to the home had been shut down.
