Registration for the Fort Bend Independent School District’s 2010-2011 Prekindergarten Program will take place on May 4 and May 5. To qualify for the Prekindergarten program, a child must be a resident of the district, 4-year-old on or before Sept. 1, 2010 and unable to speak or comprehend the English language, or eligible for free/reduced lunch according to federal guidelines, or homeless, or in foster care (currently or previously) or must have a parent currently on active military duty or injured or killed while on active duty.
The following campuses will have PreK for the 2010-2011 school year: Armstrong (bilingual), Barrington Place, Blue Ridge, Briargate, Burton (bilingual), Colony Meadows, Drabek, Fleming (bilingual), Glover, Highlands, Holley (bilingual), Hunters Glen, Jones (bilingual), Jordan, Mission Bend, Mission Glen, Mission West (bilingual), Parks (bilingual), Pecan Grove, Quail Valley, Ridgegate (bilingual), Ridgemont (bilingual), Settlers Way, and Townewest.
To register a child for Prekindergarten, parents will need a copy of their child’s birth certificate (or its equivalent), immunization records, social security card (If unavailable, a state ID number will be assigned.), and proof of residence—which should include a deed, lease or mortgage agreement, a current utility bill (gas, water or electric) or an unexpired Texas driver’s license (or other government provided photo ID of the parent or guardian) that contains the FBISD address of the parent or guardian.
Each school will set its own dates and times for PreK registration after May 1, so parents contact their child’s campus to learn specific days, times, and programs that are available. Also, since FBISD does not provide transportation for the PreK program, parents may register their child at any PreK campus. For more information, call the school in which the child will enroll or the FBISD PreK office at 281-634-1140.
