The Rosenberg Police Department has announced that Detective Joe Gifford recently completed training and is now a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner through the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists.
The process takes more than one year to complete and is highly sought after, according to police department representatives. Worldwide there are fewer than 900 people that have obtained these credentials, making the CFCE title highly regarded in the field of computer forensics.
In 2007, Rosenberg Police Chief Robert Gracia assigned Gifford to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Computer Analysis Response Team at the Greater Houston Regional Computer Forensic Lab. Gifford has since attained several certifications as a Computer Forensic Examiner and the Certified Examiner through AccessData.
“The Rosenberg PD is fortunate to have a detective that is a great resource and dedicated to Rosenberg’s citizens and police work,” said Gracia. “Detective Gifford is an asset to the Department and our citizenry. With computer crimes becoming one of the fastest growing areas of crime we are glad to have Detective Gifford as a member of our team.”
