Husband Arrested After Wife Stopped By Police For Panhandling

A man asked to identify his wife, who was without any sort of identification card, ended up arrested after police discovered the wife has a protective order against him.

Police stopped the woman around 1 p.m. Feb. 26 when they saw her panhandling in front of the Wal-Mart in the 5500 block of Hwy. 6. The officer told the woman panhandling is illegal, and asked her for identification. She said she had none. The officer than asked if there was anyone who could identify her, and she said her husband was in their van at a nearby Taco Bell.

Police found the husband who identified himself and his wife. When the protective order was discovered, both husband and wife claimed they were unaware of it. The husband was arrested for violating the order.
