I do wonder why their doesn't seem to be that interest in the SL council races. Let's hope it doesn't hurt turn-out in the school trustee elections especially during this critical time in the district budget. It is sad that the residents have so much power to change things if they would just get out and vote. When people are in office for a long period of time I think they forget their reason for being in office, they get comfortable. Residents of Missouri City I urge you to get out and vote, not for a name but for what is behind the name and for what is right. We have let so many honest people miss out in serving our community by not voting. Let's not let it happen again. I am please to see the challenge in the upcoming mayoral race. With the home foreclosure rates at all time highs and resales very slow, I can't see them doing anything else. To keep raising taxes in this environment as Allen Owen has continued to do year end and year out needs to be addressed, especially since they have pushed their ETJ across the Brazos River for the hungry Houston developer friends of this guy. Aren't you all tired of paying for his buddies projects and constant expansion on your backs??? Hopefully all candidates will address all neighborhoods city-wide.
