With no candidates filing to challenge Sugar Land City Council incumbents, the May 8 election will be cancelled.
Sugar Land Mayor James Thompson and At-Large Position 2 Councilwoman Jacqueline Baly Chaumette will serve their second terms. At Large Position 1 incumbent Thomas Abraham has been on council since 2004.
