A 14-year-old female FBISD student was arrested around 7:50 a.m. Thursday morning after she pointed what appeared to be a real gun at an FBISD bus driver, then tried to board the bus with another girl and a boy.

FBISD school bus #141 was empty, and stopped momentarily in a Kroger parking lot close to Independence Boulevard and Quail Place Drive before beginning the route, when the girl walked up to the driver’s side window pointed what appeared to be a real gun at the driver.

The student then walked around to the door of the bus, along with another girl and a boy, and tried to get on. The driver would not let them on the bus, and immediately called Transportation Dispatch, who connected the bus driver with the FBISD Police Department.

As the driver was on the phone, a parent pulled up and picked up the students to take them to school. The bus driver gave police the license plate number of the parent’s car, and police soon located the vehicle.

The parent told police she had “no idea” what had happened, and that she picked up the students to take them to school because they were not allowed on the bus.

After searching the vehicle, officers found a toy gun that belonged to the girl the driver identified as the one who pointed the gun at him.

The student was taken to Fort Bend Juvenile Detention and has been charged with a Class A Misdemeanor Assault per the Fort Bend District’s Attorney’s Office.
