A 19-year-old Target employee was arrested yesterday after police said he took $100 from the cash register. He is also under investigation for stealing as much as $927 over time.
Missouri City police were called to the Target in the 6000 block of Hwy. 6 around 3:15 p.m. The store’s loss prevention officer told police that he saw Jared Jones, a Target cashier and Missouri City resident, take $100 from his register and put it in his pocket.
The loss prevention officer confronted Jones, and told police that Jones admitted to the theft as well as others totaling $927. Police said there is video evidence of the theft.
Jones was arrested and charged with theft, misdemeanor B for allegedly pocketing the $100, but he could face further charges as police investigate the other thefts.
