A Richmond resident was taken by LifeFlight to Hermann Memorial Hospital yesterday after a Rosenberg man stabbed him several times.

Police were called around 8 p.m. to a home in the 1600 block of Walnut Street in Rosenberg, where two men were fighting. According to reports, 23-year-old John Aguilar, from Richmond, was visiting the Rosenberg home of 50-year-old Jose Gonzales. Gonzales left to run an errand and asked Aguilar to leave.

When he returned to his home, Aguilar was standing in his front yard. Gonzales asked Aguilar to leave again but he did not. Aguilar hit Gonzales with a beer bottle and the two began to fight. While fighting, Gonzales stabbed Aguilar several times. Both parties had been drinking alcohol.

Aguilar was taken to Hermann Memorial Hospital by LifeFlight. Both parties were interviewed and Gonzales was released. Charges may be filed at a later date pending further investigation.
