LCISD Hires Directors Of Research And Accountability, Special Education

Lamar Consolidated Independent School District’s Board of Trustees has hired two new district-wide directors..

Brian Moore will be the district’s new director of research and accountability, and Megan Whitley has been hired as the new director of special education.

Moore has a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in education technology, both from Texas A&M.

Prior to coming to LCISD, he has been a teacher, an assistant principal and most recently, the testing coordinator for Channelview ISD.

Whitley has her bachelor’s in psychology and her master’s in school psychology from Emporia State in Kansas. She has her doctorate in Educational Administration from Kansas State University.

Whitley has been a special education coordinator and director of special education in Fort Bend ISD, director of special education in Geary County School District in Kansas, a director of special education and a principal in the Wabaunsee East School District in Kansas, and a professor at both the University of Houston and Houston Baptist University.

She has also been in private practice as a counselor.
