Average retail gasoline prices in Fort Bend County have dropped 5.8 cents per gallon in the past week, marking the second straight week in which gas prices have fallen.
Today’s average price is $2.65 per gallon.
Fort Bend’s average price remains well below the national average of $2.80 per gallon. Nationally, the price per gallon dropped 6.8 cents per gallon last week, according to HoustonGasPrices.com.
Including the drop in local gas prices during the past week, the cost yesterday was still 38.5 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago, but 3.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
The national average has decreased 6.3 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 39.8 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago.
This is good news, now if they could only stop the spill.
