Missouri City Residents’ Feedback Wanted For Recreational Facilities

Missouri City is asking for resident input on two new recreation amenities for the city.  Two community meetings will be held next month to preview the projects and receive resident comments and priorities.

The public meeting for the Tennis and Recreation Center will be held at 7 p.m. June 8 at the Community Center in the City Hall Complex, 1522 Texas Parkway. The public meeting for the Golf Course Club House and Community Center will be held at 7 p.m. June 22 at the Community Center.

The city has contracted with PBS&J, Inc. of Houston for $71,888 for design services for the Tennis and Recreation Center, located on Cypress Point Drive. The firm’s work will cover Phase 1 of the project, which should take about two months to complete, and will include community meetings, facility and site assessments, cost-benefit analysis, conceptual plans, conceptual cost estimates and presentations to staff and council.

In addition, Missouri City has contracted with Freese and Nichols, Inc. for $151,777 to provide design services for the Quail Valley Golf Course Club House and Community Center. The agreement will cover Phase 1 of the project, which will include community meetings, exterior 3D renderings, a design of the architectural character and style of the new community center, and a schematic design based on community and stakeholder input.
