Neighbors were gathered in the 14300 block of Branchwater Lane in the Townewest subdivision just north of Sugar Land today after an early morning house fire killed a man and a woman.

First responders were called to the home at 14315 Branchwater just after 3 a.m. Sunday in reference to a fire. The front of the home is intact, but fire ravaged the rear of the home, making its way into the garage before fire department personnel extinguished it.
The Fort Bend County Fire Marshall’s Office, along with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating the cause of the fire, and the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office is performing an autopsy on the victims.
