For the second week in a row, gasoline prices in the Fort Bend area went up last week.
Average retail gasoline prices rose another 1.5 cents per gallon in the past week to an average of $2.56 per gallon yesterday. This compares with the national average that increased 0.7 cents per gallon in the last week.
Nationally, gas prices now average $2.74 per gallon, according to gasoline price website HoustonGasPrices.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Fort Bend during the past week, prices yesterday were 11.8 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago, and are 5.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
The national average has decreased 0.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 13.5 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago.
