Homeless Man Arrested For Burglary

A homeless man was arrested by Richmond police Saturday after allegedly burglarizing a home then hiding behind a tree after he was confronted by the homeowner.

According to police, the owner of a residence in the 800 block of Austin Street saw a man leave his home with some of the owner’s property. The homeowner followed the man, who was riding a bicycle, to the Rosita’s Bail Bond parking lot at 105 Fort Street in Richmond.

The homeowner confronted the suspect, who threw some of the property on the ground before running and hiding. Richmond police officer Michael Hicks found the suspect hiding behind a tree in the back yard of a residence in the 500 block of South Second.

According to police, Hicks discovered more of the victim’s property on the suspect and on the suspect’s bicycle.  The suspect, identified as Larry Bruce Dressendorfer, 53, is homeless.  Dressendorfer was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony.  He was taken to the Fort Bend County Jail for holding.
