Police: Murder Victim May Have Been Followed Home From Houston

Missouri City Police think the man shot and killed in front of his Missouri City home Wednesday night may have been followed home by the suspects from a restaurant in Houston.

According to police, the victim was involved in an altercation at the restaurant, also described as a club, prior to returning home. It is not yet known if the victim knew the suspects.

Police were called around 8:10 p.m. to the 900 block of Derby Lane near Mountshire Drive with residents reporting shots fired, and found the victim in his front yard shot multiple times. When medical personnel arrived, he was pronounced dead.

Police said the shooting was not drug or gang related.

A witness reported seeing two black males in their early 20’s leaving the scene after the victim was shot. The first suspect was described as being approximately 6’1”tall, approximately 160 lbs, wearing a white shirt and blue shorts. The second suspect was described as being approximately 5’10” -6ft tall, 150-160 lbs., wearing a red shirt and khaki pants. The suspects were seen leaving the scene is a red 4-door vehicle, possibly a Pontiac Grand Prix or Grand Am.

Responding officers checked the area for the suspect vehicle and were unable to locate it.

The homicide is currently an open and active investigation.
