The Houston -based Spay-Neuter Assistance Program’s Mobile Clinic will be in Fort Bend County on Sept. 27 offering free neutering and spaying of cats and dogs to qualified individuals.
To qualify, proof of participation in one of the following programs is required: food stamps, free lunch program in schools, Medicaid, major VA disability, Section 8 housing, SSI/SSD, TANF and WIC.
The lottery will be held in the parking lot of the Fort Bend County Rosenberg Annex, 4520 Reading Road in Rosenberg, between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., which will determine participants place in line.
Participants should not feed their animal after 10 p.m. the night before the surgery.
Since the fall of last year the SNAP mobile van has come to Fort Bend County twice thanks to donations and efforts of concerned Fort Bend County residents. It costs about $2,400 per visit of the mobile surgery unit.
