Central Fort Bend Chamber Announces Members Of 2011 Leadership Class

The Leadership Fort Bend Class of 2011, consisting of thirty-one business professionals, has been announced by the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance.

Allison Wen of Safari Texas hosted a reunion for alumni dating to 1986 recently.  Jeff Council, Fort Bend County treasurer, and his wife Ann, inaugural program chairs, were present at the event, along with one of their first class members, Rebecca Beard Junker, Class of ’86.

The class will begin the year by traveling to Camp Allen Conference & Retreat Center in Navasota for two days in September.

The Chamber has initiated a waiting list for the Class of 2012, and encourages all interested persons to reserve a spot in the next class as soon as possible by submitting an application and deposit.  Leadership Fort Bend is a nine-month program, September to May, beginning with a two-day retreat followed by six all-day sessions, a two-day trip to the State Capitol and a two-day closing retreat. The program includes training in communications, character building and personal career management skills, as well as community issues. The sessions’ topics include education, infrastructure and economic development, city and county government, county history, the judicial system, state government, health and social services and volunteerism. Alumni from past years assist in the facilitation of the program.
