Amanda Alcorn, a fifth-grade student at Quail Valley Elementary School, was selected to participate in the 2010 Miss Pre-Teen Houston pageant competition, which will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 17 at Deer Park High School’s North Campus Gaines Mason Auditorium. To qualify, Alcorn submitted an application and took part in an interview session.

Amanda Alcorn, a fifth-grade student at Quail Valley Elementary School, was selected to participate in the 2010 Miss Pre-Teen Houston pageant competition.
During the Houston pageant, Alcorn will compete among young ladies between the ages of 7 and 19 in modeling routines, which will include casual and formal wear. She will also be judged on her personality and interviewing skills, and will compete for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants.
The winner of Miss Pre-Teen Houston pageant will go on to represent Houston and the surrounding communities at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Florida. Contestants will compete for more than $60,000 in prizes and awards.
Community businesses, organizations, and individual partners will assist Alcorn in participating in this year’s competition by serving as her official sponsors. Those interested in becoming a pageant sponsor may contact the Miss Pre-Teen Houston pageant coordinator at 1-800-565-9015.
