The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy believed to have been written between 1590 and 1594. It tells the story of Baptista Minola and his two daughters, Katherine and Bianca. The younger daughter, Bianca, is charming and has many suitors. Her sister Katherine, on the other hand, is a complete opposite and is considered the shrew that needs to be tamed. The play has been adapted numerous times for stage, screen, opera and musical theater; perhaps the most famous modern adaptations being Cole Porter’s Kiss Me, Kate and the film 10 Things I Hate About You.
