Richmond Woman Stabs Burglar

A Rosenberg man is hospitalized after he broke into a Richmond woman’s apartment and was stabbed by the resident.

According to reports, the victim was  in her bed around 1 a.m. Nov. 26 at the Mustang Crossing Apartments, 20000 Lamar Drive. She heard a noise in the bathroom of her apartment, and listened for a while before taking a knife out of her purse and going to check out the situation.

When the victim left her bedroom, she saw someone walking in her apartment. She grabbed the suspect from behind, turned him around and stabbed him in the stomach. She then took the suspect outside and tried to get a neighbor to call the police.

The suspect, identified as James Mcandrew Fletcher, 41 of Rosenberg, left the scene and made his way to Oak Bend Emergency Room where he underwent surgery for his wound.  The suspect’s condition was unknown at the time of this release.

This case is under investigation and no charges are pending on the victim.  The suspect is facing charges for Burglary of a Habitation, a 2nd degree felony.
