A 25-year-old man who authorities say shot his brother-in-law during a Thanksgiving celebration has turned himself in to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. The victim died a day after the shooting.
Durell Watts turned himself in Nov. 29, and is in the Fort Bend County Detention Facility charged with murder. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
On Nov. 23, Watts allegedly shot his brother-in-law, 21-year-old Courtney Wilson, in the neck during an argument at a home in the 17000 block of Mercado Drive in the Mission Bend Subdivision. Watts fled the scene after the shooting.
Wilson was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. He died the next day, Nov. 24.
