The Fulshear City Council has approved an ordinance officially calling the city’s election for May 14.
Two seats on city council – those currently held by Mayor Pro-Tem J.B. Collins and Alderman Stephen Gill – will be on the ballot.
Under Fulshear’s form of government, council members run at-large with the top two vote-getters being elected.
In addition to calling the election, the council also approved an agreement with Fort Bend County to administer the election, as well as establishing early voting days on May 2-10.
Additionally, Fulshear polls will remain open for 12 hours on May 9-10 for early voters.
Mayor Tommy Kuykendall will sign the contract with the county to provide election services.
Collins, one of the longest-serving members of the current city council, was first elected in 1997.
Gill has been a member of the Fulshear City Council since 2009.
