‘Fbisd Hoes’ Facebook Page Raises Concerns About Possible Violence Against Students

The mother of a Travis High School student whose photo appeared on the recently created “Fbisd Whoress” Facebook page said she is concerned about escalating threats of violence on the “Fbisd Hoes” page, which was created Friday and has more than 140 “friends.”

The Fort Bend Independent Police Department is investigating the two pages, and is asking anyone with information about the identity of the administrator to call the department at 281-634-5500.

The pages contain photos of students with extremely derogatory, expletive-filled captions. The mother said it appears the students are mostly Travis High School and Bush High School students.

Fort Bend Now is keeping the mother anonymous out of concern for the safety of her daughter.

According to the mother, her daughter received a friend request from Fbisd Hoes Friday afternoon. She said her daughter was curious, and accepted the request.

According to the mother, at least one student was reportedly told by the administrator that the pages were created because “these girls talk a lot of s**t and cant back it up.”

She reported the pages to Facebook on Friday, and told her daughter to encourage her friends to do the same.

“I was hoping they would take it down before it escalated, before people got their feelings hurt and took it personally,” she said.

She said boys are now threatening to fight each other over speculation concerning the identity of the creator of the page, and she is concerned for the safety of the people being targeted, especially if it is the wrong person.

“If you do that and tell your friends, you are no better than this person here,” she said she told her daughter. “This person has hatred for a lot of people. You can’t say it’s so-and-so. You could be speculating about the wrong person.”

She said she is also concerned about the effect the page will have on students who are emotionally vulnerable.

“There’s a couple of kids on there that I know are not emotionally stable kids, and it concerns me that they are going to take this to heart,” she said. “I know some of them may act tough, but they are a little more sensitive.”

She said she hopes that parents will take an active role in their children’s Internet usage, and is frustrated with Facebook’s lack of response to the situation.

“It is just appalling to me that someone can be allowed to have two pages with so much hate up,” she said. “We have been reporting it since Friday when it went up. Here we are Tuesday, its gotten more traffic and the pages are still up and there’s nothing else we can do about it except hope parents get their kids passwords and find out what they are doing on the computer and see if it’s possible it’s their child who created this.”
