To provide additional trash collection services for residents, Missouri City plans to upgrade its municipal trash contract with Republic Services to include two additional selection levels.
At its March 21 meeting, City Council voted to move forward with an amendment to the agreement on the first of two readings. Members will consider final approval on the second reading at their next regularly scheduled meeting on April 4.
The two new options—levels 5 and 6—will provide automated service customers with the choice of having bulk waste collection on two days per month instead of one. Details of the additions are as follows:
Level 5: Each residential unit would receive:
a. Automated service on two solid waste collection days of each week and on
each such solid waste collection day may place up to one 96-gallon poly cart;
b. Bulky waste collection on two bulky waste collection days of each month and
on each such bulky waste collection day may place up to four items of bulky
waste; and
c. Recyclable material collection on one recyclable material collection day of
each week and on each such recyclable material collection day may place up
to one recycling container not exceeding 18 gallons in volume.
Level 6: Each residential unit would receive:
a. Automated service on two solid waste collection days of each week and on
each such solid waste collection day may place up to one 96-gallon poly cart; and
b. Bulky waste collection on two bulky waste collection days of each month and
on each such bulky waste collection day may place up to four items of bulky waste.
An additional cost for the services will be $1 more per month per customer account.
Homeowners associations and municipal utility districts currently with automated service may elect to choose the new levels starting today until the Aug. 31 change of election deadline. Timing of the implementation of the new service will be forthcoming.

I sincerely believe that Missouri Citian’s should have this contract upgraded to whatever maximum exists or is offered by the trash people. People in Missouri City are rich city folk and can afford any amount judging by all the sweet car rims I see when I drive thru that Golden City.
Well this is one Missouri City Gal who is NOT rich and cannot afford ANY amt for trash pickup. We’ve got kids in COLLEGE, got to pay those bills. We also don’t have any SWEET tire rims either … but yes it’s true, there are a lot of folk over here who spend more on their CARS than on their HOMES … LOL
