After conducting a routine traffic stop on U.S. 59, Rosenberg police recently confiscated approximately 237 pounds of marijuana that were likely being transported from Mexico into the United States for distribution.
On March 16, the Rosenberg Police Department conducted a traffic stop at approximately 12:30 p.m. on US 59 northbound near Kroeche Road. An interview of the vehicle occupants resulted in consent to search the vehicle and the department’s K-9 unit was deployed.
After the K-9 alerted on the vehicle, the suspects were detained and the vehicle moved to a secure location for an in-depth search which resulted in 69 bundles of what is suspected to be marijuana being uncovered. The total weight of the drugs was approximately 237 lbs.
“Through our officers’ attention to detail and thoroughness in carrying out their job duties, we were able to intercept drugs being transported through our community, sending a message to those criminals who might want to traffic illegal narcotics along our roadways,” said Rosenberg Police Chief Robert Gracia. “This diligence, coupled with the skilled assistance of our K-9 unit and Drug Interdiction Officer, allowed us to successfully remove nearly 250 pounds of marijuana from the streets.”
Although the investigation is ongoing, preliminary indications are that the drugs were being transported from Mexico into the United States for distribution.

how did they get past the falfurrias armed check points? thank goodness they caught these fellas because if that stuff had made it to missouri city then there might be some crime there from all the drug use. but now missouri city is safe and crime free.
