Five Quail Valley Middle School Gifted and Talented Academy students have advanced to the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2011 National Science Bowl competition after being named first-place winners of the Texas A&M Junior Science Bowl, held in College Station.

Students Siddarth Guham, Saiesh Kalva, Rik Nag, Rahul Nagvekar and Quynhanh Tran will represent the state of Texas at the national competition, which will be held at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center outside of Washington, D.C. on April 28-May 2.
Quail Valley Middle School also had a team place second at the state science bowl. Team members included Brendan D’Souza, Helen He, Amrutha Immadi, Srikar Ranga, and Shashank Vura.
