A Richmond pharmacist has been arrested after allegedly selling Hydrocodone and Xanax to undercover officers with the Houston Police Department.
Bright Wokocha, a pharmacist for the Richmond Professional Pharmacy,1601 Main #107, was arrested April 20 and charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
According to police, an undercover officer was able to acquire several tablets of Hydrocodone, also known as LorCet or LorTab, and several tablets of Alprazolam, also known as Xanax, from the pharmacist. The controlled substances were delivered to the undercover officer in unmarked prescription vials in a cardboard box.
Wokocha is a licensed and registered pharmacist in the State of Texas. Officers also seized a large amount of cash from Wokocha, which will be held pending forfeiture proceedings in Fort Bend County.
Wokocha voluntarily surrendered his DEA and DPS controlled substance registration numbers for the Richmond Professional Pharmacy as well as another pharmacy Wokocha owns, Adbright Pharmacy at 4601 Avenue H in Rosenberg,
Wokocha also voluntarily surrendered his personal Texas State Board of Pharmacy License number.
Officer from the Houston Police Department were assisted in the investigation by DEA Diversion Investigators and Investigators from the Texas State Board of Pharmacies as well as Richmond Police Lieutenant Billy Teague and Officer Vladimir Golovine.
Wokocha was taken to the Fort Bend County Jail where he was released the next day after posting a $20,000 bond.
