Annual ‘Fort Bend Salutes America’ Memorial Day Event To Take Place In Fulshear Next Monday

Fort Bend Salutes America, Fort Bend’s county-wide Memorial Day ceremony, will once again take place in downtown Fulshear, honoring all those who paid the ultimate price for America’s freedom.

This year’s event will take place next Monday, May 30.

Live patriotic music will begin at 9:30 a.m. with formal ceremonies starting at 10 a.m.

The colors will be presented by the Travis High School Marine ROTC and the U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a flyover at 10:06 a.m.

KSEV radio personality Sam Malone will serve as emcee and County Judge Bob Hebert will present an official proclamation from the Fort Bend County Commissioners court.

Gold Star families from Fort Bend County will also be recognized.

At 10:50 a.m., the crowd will be asked to help unfurl a 100-foot American flag during the singing of “God Bless America.” When the flag is fully unfurled, an overhead photo will be taken.

Additionally, Houston Marine Moms will be on site collecting socks for Marines serving abroad as part of their “Sock It To ‘Em” program.
