Gov. Rick Perry today approved Fort Bend County’s request for an extension of the restrictions contained in the disaster declaration issued yesterday afternoon, including the banning of all fireworks in the county.
County Judge Bob Hebert signed the order declaring a local state of disaster for Fort Bend yesterday due to exceptional drought conditions.
The extension approved by Perry prohibits the sale and use of fireworks in Fort Bend County through 7 a.m. July 5.
The declaration and order does not apply to municipal or governmental sponsored fireworks displays and does not apply to a privately sponsored display that has been approved in advance by the county fire marshal.

I wonder if this will change if it continues to rain?
If they could ban fireworks permanently, they would do it in a heartbeat.
