A 61-year-old man and his 43-year-old nephew have been arrested and are accused of selling crack cocaine and marijuana in Richmond.
The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force, which is a Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Initiative , concluded a narcotics investigation targeting illegal street level crack and marijuana distribution in Richmond. The investigation was initiated after numerous complaints were received by nearby neighbors.
The suspects, Joe Lewis Taylor, 61, and his nephew, Anthony Ray Taylor, 43, reside in the 1400 block of Center Street in Richmond.
During the early morning hours Aug. 25 drug agents conducted an orchestrated raid, executing a search warrant at the residence.
The search of the residence produced an amount of drugs “typical of a street level drug dealer,” agents said. That included a half ounce of cocaine “ready to be cooked,” 55 crack rocks that had just been manufactured, 45 grams of marijuana, $4,000 cash and several firearms.
Also found was drug contraband indicative of manufacturing, packaging and distributing illegal narcotics at the residence.
Joe Lewis Taylor was charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Felony 1 and Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Felony.
He has a bond of $200,500.
Anthony Ray Taylor was charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Felony 2, three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Felony. His total bond is $260,500.
Both suspects are still in custody in the Fort Bend County Jail. The currency was seized pending Chapter 59 by drug agents.
