Sugar Land Police Veteran Trever Nehls Considering Run for Pct. 4 Constable

Trever J. Nehls, an 18-year veteran and supervisor with the Sugar Land Police Department, has announced the formation of an exploratory committee for a potential run for Pct. 4 Constable of Fort Bend County.

In making the announcement, Nehls, the twin brother of current Pct. 4 Constable Troy Nehls, said any formal announcement he is running for the office is contingent on his brother’s decision to seek “a higher office.”

Nehls said he believes his experience, education and leadership qualities qualify him for the office.  He holds a Master Peace Officer certification with over two decades of law enforcement experience.

Nehls received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and earned a master’s degree from Central Michigan University.

The veteran peace officer credited his leadership development qualities to a 23-year military career.  Nehls holds of the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, and has served three combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan.

In 2009, Nehls was selected by a military board to attend the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  Upon graduation, he deployed to Afghanistan and only recently returned in July.  He holds numerous military awards and decorations, most notably three Bronze Stars.

Nehls is married to Kerri Nehls and they have three children, Madison, Wyatt and Parker.  He is a member of various civic clubs and organizations throughout Fort Bend County.

Nehls and his family attend Grand Parkway Baptist Church.

Mr. Phillips, I guess we’re all entitled to our opinions. Has any noticed how they’re both ‘considering’ running for something? I wouldn’t vote for someone who can’t make a commitment to the people they (might) represent, and to me just ‘considering’ it is not enough for my vote! Do it or get out!
